A few times now, we've been discussing this and that on the newbie channel, when suddendly we are interupted by an Immortal, or a builder, or SOMEBODY who doesn't seem to like us talking on the newbie channel.
Now, to be clear it's always been in-game related, and we RP it pretty damn well. At the same time, it's not meant for OOC channel, and not quite Gossip channel kind of stuff. So we discuss it over Newbie channel.
How do I know it was an Immortal? We got what looked like a universal emote telling us to stop using the newbie channel. One time we even saw "help channel" flashed before us in red. Reading that help file however told me NOTHING new, or that anything we were talking about was channel abuse.
What were we talking about? One example was how powerful the Orcs in the Orc Camp were. When asked WHY we couldn't talk on the newbie channel, we got "You're not newbies."
Alright, then what is the point of the newbie channel? If Immortals or whoever doesn't like us using the newbie channel can't THEY just turn the channel off? Or can't they get "nonewbie"? Why can't we freely discuss things over this channel and do some fun little RP stuff at the same time? I really would like an explaination here. |

Use the gossip channel for all you are talking about in your post.
The Newbie channel is to communicate with newbies when they have asked for help. If you are not a newbie NEVER instigate communication with the newbie channel.
It really is not that complicated and certainly not very mysterious .....
