What is "Ego"?
Well, in the game of DS, it's really simple. Ego is the leve at which an item stands. You have to acheive this rank before you are able to wear it, unless of course it is "poofable" which means you are able to attempt to wear it, but the item may leave your possession if you are not "of ego".
Ego is simply comprised of these stats. Charisma + Intelligence + Character rank. So, if you are a 13 Charisma 17 Intelligence caster that's rank 1. You have an ego of 31 and can wear items that are poofable up to ego 36 without poofing them, or at least like a 1/100 chance of poofing. If the item is non-poofable it would have to be the same ego as you.
If you have or know someone with a 16 wisdom, they can see the ego of items, or if you have a mage friend they can give you an estimate if they know how the ego 'messages' work on identify. But, ego really isn't a hard concept once you get the basics, and this is just here to help those that don't know about ego.
