My computer is running the game rather slow for some reason that I cannot figure out. I've played on a slower computer before just fine, but this thing just will not work with me. I've never been able to play the game without a great amount of lag and I was wondering if anyone knew why? This is really the whole reason I stopped playing in the first place because I just moved off for college and this is the only computer available.

If the game is running slowly, it probably has something to do with your connection. If you are at college it might be a firewall issue if you are using the campus connection. Try using a 'tracert' command in the DOS window to see what your lag is like. This will let you see the ping through each 'hub' that your connection is running through.

If it is an issue with the computer itself, and you are not familiar with them, maybe take it to a computer store and have them clean it up? Barring that, you can go into the add/remove programs section and get rid of any unneccessary programs that might be running in the background and slowing it down.

Hope this helps!

Okay, well I've now completely switched to using the Ubuntu 7.10 distro of Linux because it is absolutely amazing and I was wondering if anyone knows of a client that supports Linux without having to use Wine. Thank you ahead of time.

Alright well I found KildClient, but I am hoping that the reason I can't connect is because DS is down.

Well stupidly wandering around my computer isn't getting anywhere, so I was wondering if anyone had any completely technical advice so I don't have to spend the money for someone to look at my computer (starving college student). I know people that can interpret hehe Cool
